An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer IBG Models. The real subject is a truck of Canadian wartime production from the CMP group, that is, Canadian Military Pattern, in the General Service version with an open flatbed body. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. IBG has long specialized in this family of vehicles and offers it in several body variants.
The CMP vehicles represent one of the most significant and at the same time, for the lay public, most overlooked chapters of the Allied war effort. Canada built them in large numbers to British army requirements and delivered them to British and other Allied units on practically every battlefield, from North Africa through Italy to northwest Europe. Most of the production was handled by the Canadian divisions of the General Motors and Ford concerns. The typical recognition feature of these vehicles is the short hood with the cab moved forward over the engine, thanks to which the vehicle is shorter and fitted onto a ship more easily. The Chevrolet C60L belonged to the three-ton weight category and had all-wheel drive. The General Service version was a universal flatbed truck, that is, the most common and most widespread body version, which the army used to carry everything from ammunition to soldiers.
Compared with tanks, trucks have a visible chassis, so it pays to finish and paint the frame, the axles and the exhaust before the cab and the body are put in place. Glue the model with liquid cement for plastic. You can bring the load area of the flatbed to life by picking the planks out in different shades of brown and suggesting the gaps with a fine wash. The base British khaki and olive shades will stand out if you unify them with a filter after spraying and break them up with light dry-brushing of the edges. Dust and mud on the tires, the fenders and the lower part of the frame will give the vehicle scale and the impression of movement; work with pigments from the bottom upward.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
