This resin set contains replacement wheels with the Firestone tread (pattern 1) for the Chevrolet truck used by the British Long Range Desert Group. It is a detail accessory that replaces the plastic wheels of your model with more accurate castings, not a kit of the whole vehicle.
The Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) was a British reconnaissance and raiding unit operating in the North African desert during the Second World War. It used modified Chevrolet trucks with rugged tires suited to sandy ground. This set reproduces the Firestone tread faithfully, rim detail included.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Underpaint the tires in dark gray and weather the surface heavily with light desert dust, which settles in the tread.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
