Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Dragon that combines the German anti-tank gun of 3.7 cm caliber Pak 36/37 with figures of its crew. The Chow Time subject captures German gunners on the Eastern Front at a meal. The box contains a well detailed gun with all its accessories and several figures; check the particular number of parts against the manufacturer's information.
The 3.7 cm Pak 36 was the standard German anti-tank gun of the beginning of the Second World War. Against the new Soviet tanks it proved of little effect, however, and the crews mockingly nicknamed it the door knocker. The answer was a muzzle-loaded shaped-charge stick bomb (the Stielgranate 41) fitted over the barrel. The gun was light, towed and served by a few men, so the crew could move it and even carry it into firing positions easily. Despite its limited penetrating power against heavy tanks it remained a widespread infantry weapon against lighter targets and strongpoints until the end of the war.
It is a combination of equipment and figures — assemble and paint the gun and the crew separately and then set them into a diorama. Glue the small parts with liquid cement for plastic, taking care with the fine parts of the gun. Paint the figures in uniform and skin shades and bring out the faces with glazes. After the base coat, complete the gun with a wash and light metal chipping on the exposed edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
