The item 1:35 City House No.2 with archway is a diorama accessory from RT-Diorama. It is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft but an architectural element of a scene: a city house with a vaulted archway running through the ground floor into a yard. The archway is exactly the detail that sets this variant apart from an ordinary terraced house of the same range.
An opening in an otherwise closed facade gives the view a second plane. The viewer looks into the shadow and imagines what lies behind it - a yard, another street, a hiding place. At the same time the archway offers a natural explanation of why a figure is standing just there: taking cover, keeping watch, stepping out. In a military diorama it also works as a frame for a vehicle parked half inside, with only the front visible and the rest left to the viewer.
It is meant for modelers who want a city scene with depth, and it suits anywhere the view is to tell a story rather than merely show a vehicle. It comes into its own in views of the Second World War and in civilian and postwar compositions in 1:35, where it forms a natural way into a yard or a side alley.
