A set of injection-molded plastic figures of members of the German Das Reich division on the Eastern Front in 1943 and 1944 in 1:35 scale from Dragon. The box holds four figures with period kit and weapons. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted; they are intended to be glued, sprayed and finished with a brush.
Das Reich was one of the Waffen-SS divisions, committed on the Eastern Front in the second half of the war, among other places in the fighting around Kharkov and in the Battle of Kursk in 1943. The set captures four soldiers of this unit in the later part of the war, in uniforms and with kit matching 1943 to 1944. The figures are conceived standing in various attitudes, suited to being set in a combat scene.
First free the figures of mold flash and glue the body, head and limbs together; fill the seams with a light touch. Paint the faces and hands with layering and glazing, and bring out the uniforms and any camouflage patterns with shading and dry-toned edges. The result stands out best in a diorama or combined with armor in the same scale.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
