The Sd.Kfz. 251 was a German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War with a tracked run at the back and steered wheels at the front. It came about in several production forms, which differed above all in the shape of the rear end and in the way the sheet-metal parts were made, and it served in dozens of specialized conversions.
The inside of the compartment deserves attention first, because you will not reach it later. Work from the top down and make the shadows in the corners stronger than would seem natural; in a display case an interior space always appears flatter than it looked while you were painting it on the bench.
The transition between the soil and the track is where credibility is decided. Draw the deposit of material up from the ground in a wedge and let it thin out gradually. A sharp boundary between the terrain and the vehicle gives away that these are two separate things.
