This set brings water-slide decals in 1:35 scale intended for models of the amphibious DUKW trucks deployed in the Pacific. The markings cover the vehicles of the US Marine Corps (USMC) as well as of the ground army, as they looked during the landing and the fighting for Iwo Jima. It is a decal set on its own, not a kit of the vehicle.
The DUKW was a six-wheeled amphibious truck derived from the military GMC truck. Thanks to its boat hull and propeller it could float on water and drive on land alike, and it became a key means of carrying cargo and men from ships straight onto the beach. In the amphibious operations of the Pacific, including the bloody landing on Iwo Jima in 1945, it supplied the units fighting on the beachhead.
Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss varnish, which will prevent silvering under the film. Cut the part out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds, slide it into place and draw the excess water off. For perfect adhesion to rivets and recesses use a decal softener and finally give everything a matte or satin varnish.
This is a decal set. The paints, the varnish and the model of the vehicle are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
