This item is neither a kit nor a figure but a set of weapons in 1:35 scale from the brand Dynamo-Models. It serves as an accessory to figures, for vehicle interiors and for dioramas where weapons are set down in racks, on truck beds or beside trench positions. The name states five pieces; the material of the parts, their dimensions and the state of the surface are stated on the box.
The Mousqueton Berthier Model 1916 is a shortened bolt-action rifle of the French army, derived from the infantry rifle of the same system. The carbine version went to units for which the full length of an infantry weapon would have been in the way: cavalry, artillerymen, engineers and vehicle crews. The 1916 modification came out of the combat experience of the First World War and concerned mainly the magazine, which was enlarged over the earlier pattern. Weapons of this system stayed in French service even in 1940, so they suit both First World War subjects and scenes from the campaign at the start of the Second.
Leave the wooden parts on a brown base and lighten them with a fine glaze so that the grain of the stock shows; keep the metal parts in a dark, rather cool tone and polish only the edges and the worn spots lightly. It pays to add the slings from a strip of aluminum foil or thin paper: they give the weapon bulk and are easier to shape. Place the weapons in the diorama so that they lean or lie naturally; a stacked pile against a wall looks more convincing than one piece lying in the middle of an open space.
