Rounds for the French 47 mm tank gun designated SA 35 in 1:35 scale. An accessory for an open vehicle interior and for a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 47 mm gun designated SA 35 was a very good antiarmor weapon for its day, and the French army armed its best machines with it in 1940. It was carried by the Somua S35 medium tank, by the heavy B1 bis, where it sat in the turret, and by the Renault D2 tank. Against the opponents of the time the gun did well, and the weakness of the French tanks was not the caliber but the one-man turret, in which the commander observed, aimed and loaded all at once. The ammunition is single-piece, so the projectile is fixed to the case and it is loaded in one movement.
The set brings rounds for the SA 35 gun in 1:35 scale. It comes into its own on a model with an open turret or an exposed fighting compartment and just as well loose in a scene where a crew is replenishing a stock from boxes or where ammunition has been left beside an abandoned vehicle.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off; level the base of the case so that a round stands straight and can be set in a rack. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and choose the glue according to the material; super glue will serve universally. Leave the case shinier than the projectile, as the difference between the two surfaces does more than a difference of shades, and a weak dark wash at the base will give the small parts depth.
For builders of French vehicles of 1940 in 1:35 scale and for makers of dioramas where the ammunition is to be seen. Paints and glue are not included in the box, unless stated otherwise.
