A plastic kit of the Japanese carrier reconnaissance aircraft Nakajima C6N1 Saiun (Myrt) in 1:48 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. This variant of the boxing brings decals for the machines of the 141st Flying Group. The package contains injection-molded plastic, clear parts for the glazing and decals. The Saiun (meaning rainbow cloud) was a fast carrier reconnaissance aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy, designed so that its high speed would let it escape enemy fighters. It was powered by a powerful radial engine and carried a crew of three under a long glazed canopy. It entered service in the late phase of the war; it became famous for the saying that no enemy fighter could catch it. The Allies assigned it the code name Myrt. Its slender fuselage, laminar wing and large propeller made it clear that speed came first on this machine.
The long canopy glazing is on show — work the cockpit out and mask the glazing carefully. Play the dark green upper surface and the light underside off against each other with an airbrush, and keep the transitions and the fading subtle. Pick out the panel lines with a wash and unify the finish at the end with a matte varnish. Seating the parts exactly will reward you with the clean silhouette of this elegant machine. The long canopy is made up of several parts — set them together dry and try them out before you glue them on for good and mask them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
