A set of color 3D-printed decals for the cab of the Soviet GAZ-AA and GAZ-AAA family of trucks in 1:35 scale from Quinta Studio. It is not a vehicle model but a detail accessory for GAZ-AA/AAA models in this scale. The detail is printed in a thick relief layer on decal film on backing paper and once applied it looks three-dimensional and faithful.
The GAZ-AA, popularly called the polutorka, was a light Soviet truck built under a Ford license, and together with the three-axle GAZ-AAA version it was among the most widespread working and military vehicles of the Red Army in the Second World War. The simple cab with its instrument panel and plain panels is a rewarding area for detailing.
The elements do not have an adhesive layer of their own: the part is cut from the sheet, dipped in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the backing decal paper into place. Sand the surface of the kit smooth beforehand and give it a gloss coat (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22); it is on the gloss coat that the element holds, and on complex spots a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, because their chemistry attacks the printed resin. The set usually brings the instrument panel, the panels and small plates.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The vehicle model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
