An add-on set, 1:35 German antenna bases, set 1 from Yamamoto Model Parts: five pieces of small parts for faithfully fitting out models of armored equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is not a kit of a vehicle but an accessory for one. An antenna base is an inconspicuous but striking element on the hull or the turret of an armored vehicle: a sprung mounting which holds the whip antenna of the radio set and damps the shocks of driving. The parts from kits tend to be simplified in this place, because the shape is hard to mold. Replacement bases therefore belong among the first parts that modelers change when fine-tuning. The package holds five pieces, so it is enough for several models or for a vehicle with more than one antenna.
German armored equipment of the Second World War was fitted with radio sets and whip antennas whose mounting consisted of a characteristic sprung base on the rear or the side of the vehicle. The detail is well visible on a model, because it lies on an upper surface and the light falls on it. A faithful base also carries the antenna itself better, and you can draw that out of thin wire or of stretched sprue.
Separate the parts carefully with a sharp scalpel and sand the surface left by the gate down. If they are of resin, wash them in lukewarm soapy water before painting and glue them with super glue. Before gluing, check whether the place on the hull is flat, as the original simplified detail from the kit is usually cut off and the surface leveled. Paint them together with the vehicle, so that the shade matches; the rubber parts of the base look good in a dark, slightly matte form and take a light dry brush on the edges.
It is an accessory for a kit, not a model of a vehicle. It is supplied unpainted, and paints and glue are not included in the package.
