1:35 German Brummbar in this execution is a masking set of the brand Eduard from the XT line, that is from the line of masks intended for ground vehicles in 1:35 scale - it is not photo-etched parts and not a kit. A photo-etched set carries the same name; this item is the masking one.

This is a set of self-adhesive masks for the plastic model of the German Sturmpanzer IV self-propelled gun, nicknamed Brummbär, in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Eduard marks its masks for aircraft with the CX, EX and JX lines according to scale; the XT line is reserved for ground vehicles. That is a fundamental difference from the photo-etched sets which Eduard issues for the same vehicle under numerical codes and which are glued to the model permanently. A mask, by contrast, is temporary: once the paint has been sprayed it is taken off and thrown away.
The Sturmpanzer IV was a German assault gun of the Second World War built on the chassis of the medium tank Panzer IV. In an armored superstructure it carried a short 15 cm howitzer intended to destroy fortifications and built-up areas. The vehicle had limited movement of the barrel and a heavily armored front wall of the superstructure; the driver's vision ports and the simple silhouette without a turret are characteristic.
The masks are lifted out of the sheet with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel. Degrease the base before sticking them on: on remains of mold release agent or grease from your fingers a mask does not hold and the paint runs under. On vehicles it is above all the optics and the vision ports that are masked, and sometimes parts of the running gear; always press the whole circumference of the mask down, especially in the corners. Spray the paint perpendicular to the surface and in thin coats, so that it does not get under the edge from the side. If you are planning a three-color camouflage with soft transitions, leave the mask on the optics for the whole of the painting and take it off only before the final clear coat and the patina. Masking wet makes no sense with these sets: the adhesive is designed for dry application.
The set contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
