On a model of a military truck the wheels are one of the few places where you can see that the vehicle weighs something. Kit parts usually have a perfectly round tire, so the vehicle looks as though it were barely touching the ground. Replacement wheels with a weighted tire turn that impression around: the rubber is flattened at the contact patch and bulges slightly to the sides, exactly as on a loaded vehicle standing on the ground.
The set belongs to a model of the German military truck of the MAN mil gl range, an off-road vehicle developed for the Bundeswehr. The tires carry the Continental HCS tread, which was used on these vehicles. The Extra 2ea designation in the name says that this is an additional pair of wheels to go with the base set, not a complete set for the whole vehicle.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the finish will not hold. Cut the excess material and the production marks off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully. When seating them, make sure the flattening points down to the ground and that all the wheels stand in the same plane; flattening set at an angle shows at once on a finished model. Choose the glue to suit the material of the parts.
