Responsibility details are not available.
A single figure in resin from the range of Black Dog. According to the name it represents a German soldier and belongs to the thematic group devoted to the short lull in the fighting at Christmas on the Western Front. It is sold on its own and is intended as a building block of a scene, not as a finished view.
A scene in which the soldiers are not shooting can hold the attention more than a combat one, because the viewer looks for what is going on between the figures. In this arrangement the German soldier usually stands facing the opposing side; the open space between them is part of the composition and should not be filled with props. A winter groundwork suits it well, a muddy track, remnants of snow, bare stumps of trees.
Rid the castings of the mold release agent and cut the blocks off with a fine-toothed saw; even out small flash with a scalpel drawn on its flat side. Gray-green cloth looks convincing when you build it on a darker base and brighten only the edges; exaggerated lightening looks chalky when scaled down. Mute the metal parts of the equipment with a dark wash so that they do not compete with the face. In a winter scene a cool cast added in the last glaze works well.
