A German tank crewman, that is a member of the crew of a tracked vehicle, in 1:35 scale. It is precisely a tank crewman that is a rewarding figure with a model: leaning out of the turret hatch, sitting on a fender or standing beside the hull, he gives the machine a human dimension and the viewer recognizes at once from him how large the vehicle really is. An adult figure comes out at roughly five centimeters in this scale, so the carriage of the body, the folds of the clothing and the expression on the face all stand out.
It comes into its own on a diorama, on a base of its own and simply next to a finished model in a display case. It looks best when the figure and its surroundings are doing something together: both the direction of the gaze and the gesture should point at something visible in the scene. How many parts the figure has and how it goes together is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut surplus material and traces of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that you do not lose the surrounding detail. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; the exact procedure is given by the manufacturer. Before painting, wash and degrease the figure. It is painted in layers: a base tone, a darker glaze run into the folds and finally a lightening of the raised places. Leave the face until the end and shade it in a subdued way, so that it does not look like a mask. Try the seating in the hatch out dry before painting, because once the model is finished the figure cannot be moved any more.
A model of a vehicle, a base, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
