1:35 German tanker with arms backward WWII is a casting of a German tanker in a relaxed pose, suited to a turret hatch and to a spot beside the vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The resin figure in 1:35 scale captures a member of a German tank crew in a relaxed stance with his arms back. The pose aims at a half figure leaning out of a hatch or at a soldier propped against the armor, that is at exactly the places where a crew is most visible.
From the middle of the 1930s tankers wore a short black jacket and trousers cut so as not to get in the way in the tight space of a fighting vehicle. In the tropics and later in Europe as well they were supplemented or replaced by lighter outfits in sand and reed green. It is precisely the difference of the dress from the infantry that makes a tanker a rewarding object: a single figure in the turret reveals at once what branch of service it is, and gives the model a sense of scale that the vehicle alone never provides.
The position of the arms means that the figure has to be tried dry in the hatch of the chosen vehicle and the seating adjusted if necessary. Degrease the resin surfaces before painting and go over them with a primer, otherwise the paint sits poorly on the smooth casting. Never paint the black dress in pure black: start from dark gray and light the high points, otherwise all the folds are lost. Leave the small collar patches and badges for the very end and paint them with the thinnest brush you have.
