Responsibility details are not available.
A set of Star Decals markings in 1:35 scale focused on German armored vehicles in Norway in 1940. This is an accessory to a finished model.
The occupation of Norway in the spring of 1940 was carried out above all as a naval and airborne operation; tanks played a secondary role in it and only a few were deployed. Light types from the start of the war reached the north along with a few examples of a heavier multi-turreted machine that never got into series production. The terrain of the campaign was inhospitable for armored equipment: narrow roads in deep valleys, tunnels, wooden bridges, melting snow and the muddy edges of the roadways. The vehicles deployed wore the uniform dark coat typical of German equipment of the first years of the war, against which pale tactical numbers were clearly apparent.
The contrast of pale markings on a dark coat is strong, so every edge that fails to settle will show. Prepare a smooth gloss base under the markings, then, and matte the surface down once they have dried. The Norwegian setting offers a less usual patina: white traces of melting snow on the lower surfaces, wet dark mud and pale scratches from stones on the fenders. The particular vehicles held in the set do not follow from the name, so lay the placing out according to the contents supplied.
The set holds only the markings; a model of the vehicle, paints and varnishes are not in the package.
