German water containers from the period 1940 to 1941 in 1:35 scale: the water version of the jerrycan, which a strong marking set apart from the fuel one.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for models of equipment in 1:35 scale. The water form of the unified container, as the dating from the start of the war given in the name captures it, together with the abbreviation of the works and with a quantity of twelve pieces. GasPatch models offers them.
Mistaking a container of drinking water for a container of gasoline was dangerous, and so the two forms had to be told apart at a distance and in the dark. The water version therefore received a white cross across the side, an embossed inscription referring to the contents and a different neck with a wider closure that could be cleaned more easily. The inside tended to be treated so that the water would not take on an aftertaste. The shape of the body, the stiffeners and the three handles stayed common, so on a model you tell them apart exactly by the color and the inscription.
Containers from the years 1940 and 1941 belong to the time when German equipment wore a dark gray coat. It is exactly against that one that the white cross stands out best. Paint it after the base color has dried, with a thin brush along a guide drawn in advance, or use a narrow masking tape. So that the mark does not look like a sticker, go over it lightly with a fine sandpaper once it has dried and add dust in the lower part. Suggest traces of water around the closure with a darker patch, not with gloss.
