GTK Boxer (GTFz), a sagged wheel set (1:35, DEF.Model)

A resin detail accessory, not a model of the vehicle. The set replaces the wheels of the GTK Boxer wheeled carrier in the GTFz version with resin castings whose lower part is shaped as slightly sagged, so that the tire looks loaded by the weight of the vehicle, exactly as on real equipment. The set is intended for the Boxer kit in 1:35 scale from Revell. Masking templates for the tread, which make painting easier, are usually included. It is made by the Korean maker DEF.Model.

Use and fitting

• Check that your base Boxer GTFz kit is the 1:35 one from Revell, as the set is shaped for exactly that one.
• First wash the wheels in lukewarm water with dish soap so that no mold release agent is left on the surface.
• Cut the casting blocks and the supports off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw.
• Fit the wheels so that the sagged part sits down on the ground, otherwise the weighted effect will not show.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic does not hold on resin.

Painting tips

Lay a primer on the resin and only then the paint. Shade the tread and the sides of the tires with a darker rubber color and add a dusty trace with pigments. The masking templates supplied make a clean transition between tire and rim easier.

Who the set is for

For modelers who are building the Revell GTK Boxer GTFz in 1:35 scale and want a realistic weighted tire effect. Working with resin calls for at least some basic experience.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. Use a respirator and ventilate when sanding resin.
