A plastic kit model of the Japanese Type 4 Chi-To medium tank in its planned production version in 1:35 scale from the Japanese firm FineMolds. The model captures the shape of the hull and the turret matching the intended production form, which differed from the prototype. The package holds link-and-length tracks that make it possible to render the sag of the track run realistically.
The Type 4 Chi-To was among the most advanced Japanese tanks of the Second World War. It was armed with a long 75 mm gun and had strengthened armor. Only a few were completed by the end of the war and the tank never got into action, yet it represents the peak of Japanese medium tank development.
We recommend assembling and painting the running gear before closing the hull. The link-and-length tracks are best glued so that they settle naturally and form a sag between the road wheels. Work with thin cement for plastic, and for weathering use washes and pigments for dust and mud effects. Earthy Japanese shades are set off by light edge highlighting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
