The goods consist of separate roadblock items of the Israeli pattern for 1:35 scale, not a finished ground and certainly not a model of a vehicle. The manufacturer is Black Dog. You arrange the items over a ground of your own wherever you need them, which gives considerably more freedom than a scene cast in one piece.
Concrete barriers are among the typical marks of hardware deployed in the Middle East, so they give a scene an immediate placing in geography and in time. They also work well on their own as a divider between two parts of a larger display, or as an item that hides the transition between a diorama and its edge.
Concrete in a dry and dusty setting is lighter and warmer than it is usually painted, so start with a sandy gray base. Suggest the patches left by the cast panels by retoning the individual faces lightly. You support a surface faded by the sun with a light dry brush over the whole height, not on the edges alone. Fine ocher pigment dusts the lower part, and it has to match the color of the dust on the hardware, or the items will not look of a piece within the scene.
