An injection-molded plastic kit of the German light tank destroyer Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer from Academy in 1:35 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit meant to be glued and sprayed. For the exact package contents, the number of parts, the decals and any extras, go by the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
The Hetzer came about on the proven chassis of the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38 tank (the Panzer 38(t)) and became one of the most widespread German tank destroyers of the close of the war. Its low, heavily sloped armored structure offered good protection at small dimensions and weight. The main armament was a 75 mm anti-tank gun in the front of the hull. The vehicle was built from 1944 and was committed on the Eastern as well as the Western Front; its compactness and low silhouette made it a difficult target.
With armored equipment, first finish the running gear, the wheels and the tracks, and any interior, before you close the hull, because once it is glued you can no longer reach them. Spray the base over primer, and use thinned modeling paints in the airbrush. Three-color camouflage schemes are typical; the transitions between shades will stand out with an airbrush. Build the weathering up with a wash into the corners and with pigments for mud and dust effects on the lower hull and the tracks, and dry-brushing will bring out the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
