The plastic kit Tamiya Marder I Sd.Kfz.135 in 1:35 scale - a German tank destroyer on the chassis of the French Lorraine tractor, with crew figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Marder I (Sd.Kfz.135) tank destroyer in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. The model captures a compact improvised vehicle with an open superstructure and an anti-tank gun. The set offers detail of the interior of the fighting compartment and crew figures are in the package as well. It is built as an unassembled kit.
The Marder I came about by fitting a captured French Lorraine tracked tractor with the German 7.5 cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun. It was one of a series of improvisations with which, from May 1942, the Wehrmacht quickly made up its shortage of mobile anti-tank defense; about 170 were built. With its powerful gun the vehicle was a threat to Allied armored vehicles - it was used in Normandy and on the Eastern Front among other places.
Paint and assemble the interior of the fighting compartment and the breech of the gun before you close the superstructure up. Prepare the running gear and the tracks separately. For a faithful look use a primer, an airbrush, washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud; the open superstructure rewards careful emphasis of the inner details.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
