An injection-molded plastic kit of the Type 16 wheeled combat vehicle in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. The set captures the C5 version with a winch and offers a choice of building the vehicle with the winch or without it. Photo-etched parts, masking stickers, figures and decals for two color schemes are included.
The Type 16 Mobile Combat Vehicle is a modern Japanese wheeled combat vehicle on eight large wheels, armed with a 105 mm rifled gun. It serves with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force as rapidly deployable fire support. The C5 version additionally carries a winch, an air conditioning unit at the rear of the turret and other small fittings.
The winch uses the string supplied to represent the cable run across the hull. Assemble the suspension and the lower hull before the hull is closed up, lay the paint on with an airbrush and bring the surface to life with a wash and pigments. The masking stickers make spraying easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
