An injection-molded plastic model of the German heavy tank Pz.Kpfw. VI Tiger II Ausf. B (King Tiger) in the version with the Porsche turret, in 1:35 scale from the Zvezda brand. The model captures the characteristic rounded front of the turret of this type.
The Tiger II, nicknamed King Tiger, was a German heavy tank of the Second World War with heavily sloped armor and a long 88 mm weapon of high penetrating power. A smaller part of the early machines was given the so-called Porsche turret with its characteristic rounded front; most then carried the later, more angular turret. In spite of its strong armament and armor the King Tiger was heavy and demanding on servicing and fuel, which limited its mobility and its range. It was built in the last phase of the war in fairly small numbers and was deployed on the Western and the Eastern Front.
With a tank it pays to assemble and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before the hull is closed up and the side skirts are fitted. Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them down. Apply a primer before painting and spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. Volume is added by edge highlighting, dark washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis and the tracks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
