A bundle of resin accessories for the Spitfire Mk.Vb in 1:72 scale, in the variant with rounded exhaust ends. For the Eduard kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The difference is a single one, but a visible one: the ends of the exhaust stubs. A round outlet was carried by machines of earlier production, and a modeler who is copying one particular aircraft has to choose by it. Beside this item there is therefore a second one with the same scope and a flat, flared outlet. Anyone still looking for a subject should find a photograph first — a good deal can be repainted, but the shape of a casting cannot.
The Spitfire Mk.Vb was the most widespread British fighter in 1941 and 1942. In the cramped conditions of besieged Malta it became a legend, because it was from there that it beat off raids and took off from the decks of aircraft carriers. The wing carried two cannons and four machine guns, and the Merlin 45 engine gave reliable performance up to medium altitude. The finishes of this version cover desert shades, naval gray and standard European camouflage.
A kit is not part of the delivery; the package completes one. The sets are brought together so that nothing in them is duplicated.
