A photo-etched detail set from Eduard in 1:35 scale intended for plastic models of the Leopard 2 A7V tank. It is not a tank kit but an accessory that refines and sharpens the surface of a finished model. Photo-etched parts from thin metal sheet replace coarser plastic elements and add details that an injection mold cannot make.
Typically the cooling grilles and engine intake covers, loops, brackets, clips and other fine exterior elements. The parts are supplied on one or more etched frets, from which they are cut out and bent into their final shape.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, mark the bends out beforehand and fold them over a bender or a metal ruler. Photo-etched metal components are best glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with two-part epoxy. Degrease them and apply a primer before painting so that the paint adheres well.
It is an accessory set, not a complete model. The base kit, the paints, the glue and other accessories are not included in the package.
