An injection-molded plastic kit of the American light tactical truck M1078 LMTV in the version with the armored cab (Armor Cab) in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model offers rich detail: a complete drivetrain, clear parts for the glazing, photo-etched parts and hollow rubber tires with the tread pattern rendered. Decals for two marking options are usually included in the box.
The M1078 LMTV is a modern American light tactical truck, the basic member of the extensive FMTV family of vehicles. Experience from the fighting in Iraq led to the development of a strengthened, armored cab (known as the Low Signature Armored Cab), which gave the crew added protection against gunfire and the effects of mines. It is this form with the armored cab that the model captures.
First assemble and paint the chassis, the axles and the drivetrain, and only then seat the cab and the body. Glue the plastic with a liquid modeling cement, attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and fix the glazing with a glue for clear parts so that it does not fog. Over a primer, spray a modern American finish - a single-color desert scheme or the three-color NATO camouflage. A wash and a paneliner draw out the detail, and dust pigments on the tires and the chassis give the vehicle its weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
