An accessory set in 1:35 scale with a model of the portable M2 flamethrower. It is not a kit of a vehicle or a figure but a small accessory with which a scene is completed: a figure carries it on his back, it lies beside a vehicle, it stands propped against a crate in a store.
The M2 is an American portable flamethrower from the Second World War. In construction it is a carrying assembly of pressure tanks worn on the back and a hand wand joined by a hose, which matters from a modeling point of view: a set like this usually stands or falls on how convincingly the connection between the tanks, the hose and the wand on the figure comes off.
The parts are small, so separate them over a work surface and draw the knife away from yourself. It is often better to replace the hose between the tanks and the wand with a piece of soft wire or thin insulation, because a rigid part is hard to shape to a figure. It can be painted with a brush: a matte base in a military green shade, then fine edge lightening with a dry brush and finally a dark wash in the recesses. The metal parts and buckles look good with a light rub of graphite.
