The photo-etched 1:35 Maple leaves (flora) from Metallic Details is a set of maple leaves in 1:35 scale for building trees and autumn scenery in a diorama. It is a scenic accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of maple leaves etched from thin metal sheet for a scene in 1:35 scale. The maple leaf has an unmistakable palmate shape that is recognizable even at a small size, which is why it suits both the crown of a tree and fallen leaves on the ground. It is not a part for a model but material for a diorama and a vignette.
Photo-etch is thin enough in scale and at the same time holds the shape it is given. Fallen leaves can therefore be bent and turned individually, so the layer on the ground is not a flat sticker but a real little heap of leaves. In a crown, in turn, every leaf keeps the angle you give it and the tree looks airy. Paper leaves, by contrast, curl with moisture in time.
Separate the leaves from the fret with sharp nippers or a scalpel and sand the burr away. Shape them by pressing them into a soft surface; with a maple a slight bending into a dish shape is enough. Give the metal a primer intended for metal, because otherwise the finish will flake off. For an autumn scene mix several tones of yellow, ocher, orange and brown and paint the individual leaves differently; for a summer scene choose several shades of green with lighter edges. Glue the fallen leaves into a layer of binder on the ground and leave some of them lying crooked across each other. At the end unify the whole scene with a thin glaze and a fine pigment.
The package contains photo-etched leaves. Paints, glue and a tree armature are not part of it.
