A set of decorative metal fencing in 1:35 scale from Matho Models, version B. It is a diorama prop, not a vehicle kit: fence panels of the kind that enclose town gardens, parks, villa districts and cemeteries. A fence is one of the most useful elements of a composition — it leads the viewer's eye naturally and divides the scene into planes.
Metal fences with decorative bars belong in town and suburban scenes from the end of the 19th century to the present day, so they will serve a historical, wartime or modern subject alike. Set them on a low base wall along a sidewalk, enclose a front garden with them or a park behind wrecked equipment. A damaged stretch — a panel torn out, bars bent — is a convincing addition to scenes of fighting in built-up areas.
The basis is semi-gloss or matte black, or else dark green or graphite, the colors wrought fences are really painted. Pick the edges and the decorative points out with a fine dry brush in a metallic shade, and at the foot and the joints suggest rust with orange-brown pigments or a wash. Anchor the fence into a base wall of plastic section or plaster and glue it with cyanoacrylate; straighten the panels against a ruler before gluing.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
