A feed cover for the MG 34 machine gun in 1:35 scale: the early milled form, as the name gives.
Responsibility details are not available.
The hinged cover on the upper side of the receiver covers the mechanism that moves the ammunition toward the chamber. Without replacing it the difference between the individual production series cannot be caught faithfully. The component offered corresponds to the early milled shape given in the name and is meant to be exchanged for the part the weapon carries out of the box.
The cover is one of the few places where the construction of the weapon is really legible even in a reduction. The hinges, the catch and the cutouts for the feed are apparent here. It is exactly here that early and later pieces differ most, and that is why builders of a particular period focus on it first. Up close this is the place a viewer's eye slides to first. The package deals with this single node; the other parts of the weapon stay original.
Cut the original shape off with a sharp knife with a new blade and level the surface with a sanding plate. Lay the new part in place without glue first and check the alignment looking from above, and only then fix it. The surface takes a fine lightening of the edges, which shows how the cover stood away from the body of the weapon. Wipe remnants of glue away before they dry, otherwise they will stand out unpleasantly on the edge after spraying.
