This set of photo-etched brass sheet from Voyager Model is prepared for the Academy 13217 plastic kit. It serves to replace thick plastic parts, typically covers, clamps, eyes and mesh, with thin metal true to the scale.
The CV9040B is a version of the Swedish tracked infantry fighting vehicle of the CV90 group. The main armament is a 40 mm autocannon in the turret, the vehicle carries an infantry squad and it is built for operating in Nordic conditions. The design puts the emphasis on speed, a low silhouette and modular equipment. A number of assemblies on the vehicle, for instance the mesh over the powerpack or the small external equipment, are always simplified in plastic.
A photo-etched part is most often lost the moment it springs off the tweezers. Work over a light-colored surface with raised edges rather than over a carpet, and cut the tab against a hard surface so that the part does not shoot away. Choose tweezers with a fine tip and a light spring, because strong tweezers literally catapult a small part. Before you start, cover the drain in the sink and switch off any air movement in the room. Sort the small parts into bottle caps in advance and take them out only at the moment of gluing.
This is an add-on set for a plastic kit, not a standalone model. The kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
