A photo-etched set of fenders for the M47 medium tank in the M47E/M version in 1:35 scale, intended for the Takom 2072 kit. The parts are bent and glued with cyanoacrylate glue.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the postwar years the M47 medium tank was among the most widespread machines of the Western armies, and a number of users progressively modernized it. The set aims at the version carried under the designation M47E/M and is intended for the Takom 2072 kit, which the name gives directly. Fenders belong among the parts that a plastic kit can never manage thin enough, because the mold needs a certain wall thickness.
Photo-etched parts of the fenders and of the adjoining plates replace the plastic parts from the kit. The difference is visible mainly from the side and when looking from above: the edge of an etched fender is as thin as on the real subject, whereas the plastic part has it several times thicker. The exact extent of the set and the order of assembly are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For modelers who build the M47 in the M47E/M version in 1:35 scale and want to get the thickness of the fenders to the level of the real subject. Working with photo-etched parts calls for patience and at least basic tools, but the result is visible on the finished model at first glance. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
