This is not a kit of a vehicle, but an extensive add-on set of photo-etched sheet metal. Against sets aimed at one subassembly only, this item covers both the vehicle itself and the carried mine-clearing equipment, so it contains markedly more metal parts. The metal parts replace plastic meshes, covers, stiffeners, holders and small flat elements to which injection-molded plastic cannot give the right thickness. The maker is Voyager Model. The set is cut for the Panda PH35044 kit.
The M1235 MaxxPro Dash is a shorter and lighter variant of the American line of mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles, designed with a view to better mobility in the field. The designation DXM refers to the form with a reworked wheel suspension, which lifted the vehicle's handling on unpaved ground. On the nose it carries the SPARK II assembly of mine rollers, which set off improvised explosive devices before the vehicle arrives.
Divide a set of this extent into subassemblies in advance and follow the build sequence of the base model – the metal parts often have to be glued in before the hull is closed up. Cut with a scalpel, bend in a bender, glue with cyanoacrylate glue in small doses. Degrease the metal and lay down a primer. On a vehicle of this type a sand-colored base, a fine filter to unify the tone and dust pigments on the lower areas and on the roller have proven themselves.
The set is an accessory, not a kit – the model of the vehicle, glue and paints are not included in the package. Before buying, check the match with your own kit.
