The resin collector figure 1:35 N.Y. Policeman from Black Dog: a figure of a New York policeman for urban dioramas and display cases.
Responsibility details are not available.
A cast figure of a New York policeman meant to bring an urban scene to life. Black Dog is a Czech brand that has long devoted itself to resin figures and accessories for kits in the large scales.
The figure captures a member of a city police force in a civilian, non-combat setting. It can be used at a patrol car, on a street base, at a barrier or simply as a passer-by who gives the scene a story. In 1:35 scale an adult figure comes to about five centimeters, so it matches the size of hardware and civilian vehicles in the same scale.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water; that removes the residue of the mold release agent, on which the paint would hold only poorly. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the area with a file, and sand wet and with your airways protected. Resin is joined with cyanoacrylate glue, and with figures a thicker gel version works well. Apply a thin layer of base coat before painting; build the face and the hands up in layers from shadow to light. Small details that are barely perceptible on such a small figure are better only suggested with a dark line than given a full shade; overcrowded detail comes off worse in a display case than detail left out. The last stage is usually a matte varnish in two light passes, which unifies the gloss between areas painted with a brush and the sprayed base.
