Injection-molded plastic kit of the German Panzer Kpfw. 38(t) light tank in the Ausf.G version in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The box contains photo-etched parts and individual track links for a faithful rendering of the running gear. The Ausf.G version is marked out by thicker frontal armor and wider use of welded plates.
The Panzer 38(t) grew out of a Czechoslovak tank developed by the CKD (Praga) company before the war. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia it was taken over and used in large numbers by the German Wehrmacht, which valued the type for its reliability and good mobility. The Ausf.G version answered the call for thicker armor - the frontal surfaces received 50 mm armor and welding was used more widely in the structure. The 38(t) vehicles served mainly on the Eastern Front and many of them also reached Germany's allies.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the individual track links first, while access to them is free. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), the plastic with thin modeling cement, and sand the joints. Apply a primer before painting and spray the base coat with an airbrush. Bring the early German shades (gray, later dark yellow with camouflage) to life with a wash in the recesses, pick out the edges with a dry brush and finish the underside with dust and mud pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
