An accessory set by Copper State Models in 1:35 scale: a pick and a shovel, that is engineer tools that vehicles carried fastened to the hull or to the fenders. It is not a kit and not a vehicle model, but a small accessory for detailing a finished model and for filling out a diorama scene.
Tools are among the details the eye looks for subconsciously. On real equipment they were allowed for, they were fastened in visible places and they were as a rule in visibly worse condition than the rest of the vehicle: wooden handles scuffed, metal blades worn to a shine and clogged with earth. On a model, therefore, tools fill two roles at once: they complete the equipment of a vehicle and they offer a surface on which work with contrasts of material can be shown.
The parts are small, so separate them with a sharp knife and work over a mat, so that nothing gets away from you. Choose the glue according to the material: on resin and 3D prints cyanoacrylate, on plastic a thin glue for polystyrene. Paint them before gluing them on: bring the handle to wood with a brown base shade and fine glazing, and the blade of the tool with dark metal and lightened edges. Finally add mounts or straps from thin wire or foil, because a finished tool just lying on a hull looks unfinished.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
