This is not a model of a vehicle but a diorama accessory from RT-Diorama in 1:35 scale. The name gives a cross-section of 20 mm and a count of three pieces in the package. In a scene the heavier diameter is usually used for the main run, onto which thinner branches are then connected.
Massive pipework is the carrier of scale in an industrial scene. A tube run past a figure shows the viewer at once how large the works were, and at the same time it gives the composition a firm horizontal line.
