A figure from the Czech brand MN-hobby, which has long devoted itself to Czech uniformed forces. The subject is given by the designation of the unit, the 1st emergency regiment, and by the year directly in the name. The 1:35 scale is the most widespread format for ground dioramas, so the figure fits into scenes with kits of military and civilian vehicles of the same format.
It is a member of Pohotovostni pluk 1, that is of a unit of the National Security of 1945. The year immediately after the end of the war meant considerable variety of uniforms for the newly built forces: alongside new items, older police and gendarmerie pieces were commonly worn. That is exactly why with this figure it is rewarding to start from a period photograph and adapt the color solution to the particular setting you are building.
Once the casting marks have been removed, give the figure a thin coat of filler primer, so that any unevenness shows up. Build the face and the hands from a darker tone toward a lighter one, and the uniform on the contrary from a medium color with dark shading of the folds afterwards. Leave the metal and leather places for the end, so that they are not dirtied by the previous coats. The figure stands out well on a base with paving or fine gravel.
The goods are supplied for painting separately; the result rests above all on patient work with the shades of the uniform.
