A plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.D tank with the Vorpanzer spaced add-on armor in 1:35 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Pz.Kpfw.IV was originally meant to support infantry and attacking tanks, and that is why in its early form it carried a short-barreled 75 mm gun. The Ausf.D version belongs among the prewar and early wartime variants: it can be told by its external gun mantlet and by the stepped front of the hull. The Vorpanzer designation refers to an additional armor plate set out in front of the superstructure front and separated from it by a gap. Protection arranged in this way was also supplied later for machines that were already with the units.
This is a plastic kit in 1:35 scale, that is, in the most widely used size for military hardware. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the exact range of parts and the number of marking options are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Before gluing, remove the excess material and the marks left by production from the parts, sand the mating surfaces and test-fit the assembly dry. The spaced armor plate is a rewarding detail, but it is also a source of mistakes: make sure the gap between it and the front of the superstructure is the same across the whole width and that the plate is not skewed. Early machines are usually presented in a uniform dark gray finish, on which dust on the running gear and scuffing on the edges of the hatches and fenders show up well.
Paints, glue, filler and add-on sets are not included, unless stated otherwise.
