Trumpeter 1:35 ASU-85 Mod.1970 - a Soviet airborne self-propelled gun (kit) captures the updated, later form of the light tracked SPG for airborne units. An injection-molded kit with rich detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The real subject is the ASU-85 in the later, updated form designated Mod.1970. Compared with the early Mod.1956 version it captures the updated configuration of the vehicle; it is therefore a separate boxing, and it is worth not confusing it with the early version. The tooling is of modern design and offers rich detail.
The ASU-85 was an armored, fully enclosed self-propelled gun with an 85 mm gun, developed for the Soviet airborne forces as the successor to the open-topped ASU-57. It gave paratroopers air-transportable fire and anti-tank support. The updated Mod.1970 form grew out of the type's long service with airborne units and carries later equipment that the early version lacks.
Assemble and fine-tune the running gear and the tracks before closing up the hull. Glue the plastic with a thin modeling cement. After spraying the Soviet protective green, use a wash into the detail and the rivets and apply pigments to the running gear for dust and mud. Pick out the edges, create smooth transitions on the large surfaces with oil paints and add wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
