Schwimmwagen camouflage cover from shelter halves in 1:35 from PANZER ART: a resin accessory representing a camouflage cover. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory in 1:35 scale represents a camouflage cover for a model of the German Schwimmwagen amphibious car, made up of shelter-half tent sections. It is not a kit but a part for a finished model. The casting has the texture of the canvas, the folds and the hems raised, so it becomes one of the most striking features of the whole build.
The Zeltbahn was a German shelter half in a camouflage print, which a soldier wore as a poncho and which, joined with others, formed a shelter. It was also used to cover vehicles, because the camouflage print broke up the outline better than a plain tarpaulin. The Schwimmwagen was a small amphibious car of reconnaissance and engineer units with an open body, so covering it made sense against rain as well.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water and remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface; protect your airways while sanding. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. Dry-fit the part on the body before gluing. The camouflage print is painted in layers: first the base tone of the canvas, then the shapes of the patches, and finally highlights on the ridges of the folds and a dark wash flowing into the hollows.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
