Italeri 1:35 Sd.Kfz.167 Sturmgeschütz IV is a plastic kit of the German assault gun of the Second World War in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An unassembled plastic kit of a turretless assault gun in the most widespread scale for military equipment. In 1:35 the model allows you to work with detail and weathering alike, and it goes well with figures and diorama elements. The number of parts, the type of tracks and the extent of the decal sheet are given by the manufacturer on the box.
The Sturmgeschütz IV, listed under the designation Sd.Kfz.167, came about by joining the fighting superstructure of the StuG III assault gun to the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. IV medium tank. The vehicle has no rotating turret: the 7.5 cm gun is mounted in a fixed superstructure with limited traverse, which lowers the silhouette and simplifies production. Its characteristic recognition feature against the StuG III is the lengthened front section with a separate driver's compartment.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you finally close up the hull — later it is awkward to get a brush or an airbrush in between the wheels and the tracks. Fit the tracks only after the base coat, otherwise the shades of track and hull will run together. On turretless vehicles the front face of the superstructure is very visible, so clean it up well and fill the seams. In color the model comes alive with modulation: a base coat, a lighter spray from above and a darker wash into the engravings and corners. Handle dust and mud with pigments and concentrate above all on the lower areas, the fenders and the running gear. Glue any side skirt plates on at the very end, because they break off easily.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
