This generous plastic kit from the manufacturer Amusing Hobby joins two subjects in 1:35 scale in one package: the heavy tank destroyer Sd.Kfz.184 Ferdinand and the sixteen-ton Strabokran gantry crane. It was exactly this pair that met in field workshops in reality, and as a whole they form the basis of a striking technical diorama.
The Ferdinand was a German heavy tank destroyer of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the unsuccessful Porsche design for the Tiger tank. Strong frontal armor and a powerful 88 mm gun made it a feared opponent at long range; the machine is linked above all with the fighting at Kursk in 1943. The Strabokran gantry crane, with a capacity of 16 tons, served field workshops for handling heavy assemblies: it lifted engines out and made it possible to repair heavy equipment directly in the field.
Build the two assemblies separately; on the Ferdinand give care to the running gear before you close the hull, and on the crane take care that the lattice structure is true. Once the camouflage is sprayed on, washes into the joints and pigments come into play; a workshop scene will take a more pronounced patina of service, traces of oil and dust.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
