135 Set of scale models Plastic barrels (3 pcs.)

What the set contains

Three drums in 1:35 scale. According to the name these are drums of plastic make, that is present-day containers for liquids of the kind that stand today by workshops, in yards, at fueling points and behind a barricade. Check the material of the parts themselves against the manufacturer's material.

Where it fits

A drum is a rewarding object in a scene: it has a simple shape, an easily readable size and can be worked with in many ways. Stand it upright beside a vehicle, lay it on its side, load it onto a load bed or make an obstacle of it. Three drums allow one group that the viewer reads as a whole, and a division into two places in the scene as well. Unlike a steel drum, a plastic one does not rust, so it suits present-day scenes where rusty containers would look out of place.

Building and painting tips

Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder; leave the hoops and the edges of the lid sharp, because it is by those that a drum is recognized. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Plastic drums tend to be a saturated blue, white, black or green and their surface stays smooth; instead of rust, scratches, dusting and marks from spilled liquid come out well on them. If you paint each of the three drums a different shade, the scene comes to life at once. The suitable glue and the assembly procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Who it is for

For builders of present-day dioramas and scenes with equipment in 1:35 scale who are missing small fittings for the background. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
