This is an accessory set, not an aircraft kit. It covers the cockpit of the Avia B-534 in 1:72 scale and is aimed at modelers who want a cockpit worked out in more detail than the plastic kit provides. On a biplane with an open or only lightly covered cockpit, the interior is the first thing a viewer sees on a finished model. The set is developed for the Eduard kit in this scale, so check which one you have at home before you buy.
The Avia B-534 is a Czechoslovak fighter of the 1930s and one of the finest biplanes of its day. It was powered by a license-built Hispano-Suiza V12 engine, which gave the machine very good performance for a biplane. It flew with the prewar Czechoslovak Air Force and later with other users as well. For the modeler, the interesting part is the combination of a strut-braced biplane, a long nose with a V12 engine and a cockpit that is easy to see into.
The parts may be resin or plastic, so match the procedure to the material of the parts in the package. Wash resin castings in lukewarm soapy water, otherwise the paint will not hold on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a disc, level the surface with a file and sand wet and with respiratory protection. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), plastic with ordinary modeling cement. On a biplane it is a good idea to finish and paint the interior before you start on the wings and struts, because after that you cannot get inside. After the base color add a dark wash and dry brush work, finish the small instruments and accentuate any fuselage framing so that it does not disappear.
