An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet light cross-country vehicle UAZ-469 in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model offers a well divided body, chassis, interior and rubber tires. Check the exact parts count and the extent of the markings against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The UAZ-469 was taken into service in 1973 and replaced the older GAZ-69. It became the general-purpose light vehicle of the Soviet army and of other Warsaw Pact forces — it served for liaison, reconnaissance, carrying commanders and as a tractor for light weapons. Its rugged axles with portal gearing gave it good cross-country ability, and thanks to its undemanding design it spread to dozens of countries, where in civil and military versions it served for long decades.
First assemble and paint the interior and the chassis, which are harder to repaint once the body is closed up. Cut the parts off the sprues and glue them with thin cement for plastic; glue the clear glazing parts with cement for clear plastics so that they do not go dull. After the base color and a clear coat, bring out the panel lines with a wash and put pigments on the fenders and the underside for the dust and mud effects typical of field service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
