Stowed material and personal crew equipment for the AB 41 and AB 43 armored cars in 1:35 scale turns a bare vehicle into a machine with a long road behind it.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Pimp My Miniatures brings a collection of stowed load and personal crew equipment in 1:35 scale, of the kind carried on Italian armored cars in the field. It is shaped to sit on the surfaces of the hull and gives the model a lived-in, used look.
The AB 43 version received a new turret with a 47 mm gun, but the armistice of September 1943 prevented deliveries to the Italian army and the great majority of the vehicles built ended up in German hands or with the units of the northern Italian republic. The Germans took the vehicles over under their own designation and used them above all for reconnaissance and in counter-insurgency operations in the Balkans. In all, something on the order of a few hundred vehicles of all versions were built. It is precisely in these late deployments that period photographs are full of vehicles covered in crates, bundles, tarpaulins and containers: the units often moved far from their supply base.
Lay the parts out dry and photograph the arrangement before you start gluing. Set the stowage apart from the vehicle in color so that it does not blend in: wood in warm brown tones, canvas in gray-green, metal in dark shades with a hint of rust. Finally unify everything with a light dusting that pulls the differences together.
The stowage equips a finished model; the armored car itself is not supplied.
